Icy Leaf

I was interested by the contrast of a healthy looking leaf with ice on it. It shows just how much nature can handle.
-
Frozen

I was interested by the ice frozen to the leaf. Nature is an amazing subject to shoot. It’s beautiful to see how the plants are affected by the different seasons.
-
Shimmer

I was testing out different ISO settings on my camera when I went for a walk one day. I originally took this photo because I thought that the flower was beautiful and ethereal. Now I’m interested by the way the light in the background looks like shimmering diamonds.
-
Inkblot

I kept a slight blur on my camera when I took this photo. It kind of reminds of an inkblot that is used in the Rorschach test.
-
Mystical

Sometimes, nature is so beautiful that you forget that it is real. I took this photograph near dusk. The way the light is hitting the flowers adds a bit magic to this shot.
-
Tangled

I took this photo because I was interested by the curves of the branches. They look a bit tangled and almost like they are reaching out from the light.
-
Delicate Silhouette

When I saw this flower tilting it reminded of the quote following quote: “The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.” Confucius
-
Strong-willed

There is something really special about capturing a photograph of a silhouette as the sun sets. The light is quite ethereal and has a bit of magic to it. I feel like so many human attributes can be applied to things you see in nature. When I saw this flower, I thought that it seemed stubborn…

Red-Brown Leaf

I took this photo on Christmas Day 2015. I was drawn to the reddish brown colour of the leaves.
-
Mystical

I intentionally kept this shot slightly out of focus. I feel like that blur adds to the mystical/ethereal mood in this photo. The trees almost look like dancing ghosts.
