Why I enjoy black and white photography

There is something captivating and raw about a black and white photo. Stripping out the colour compels you to really focus on the angles, shadows and tones. This can increase the impact and make the photo stronger.

I think there is a bit of magic with black and white images. It can affect the mood and make the image feel more surreal, haunting or mysterious. Because most people see the world in colour, I think that photos in black and white can be more interesting because it’s something different than we are used to seeing

The photos above are photos I’ve taken in Ireland that I feel are stronger in black and white.
