I enjoy taking photos of shadows because they are interesting and unique.  I love the shapes and outlines that the shadows create.

I saw a brick wall with a tree casting shadows on it. It looked like the tree was growing out of the wall and I thought that this would make an interesting photo.

I crouched low to the ground and took the shot using my Samsung Galaxy S3 camera. I wanted the shapes and shadows to be the main focus. I chose to convert the image to black and white and adjusted the levels to create more contrast.
